Hailing from Toronto, JNR credits his love for music to the weekly trips to the record shop at the local mall with his dad and siblings at a ripe young age of 5. Older cousins with regular basement parties also had a huge part in inspiring him to DJ. In Singapore since 1998, he has been purveying his brand of soul-inspired feel-good music whenever he plays, whether its at a bar, daytime party, festival, club or a pop-up ware house party. He can be found helming the decks each weekend at Lulu’s Lounge and occasionally at Tanjong Beach Club, Super Loco on Wednesdays, and Uptown Thursdays at Kilo Lounge.

JNR’s sound at its heart, is a blend of Deep House, Detroit Techno, fused with Boogie, Philly Soul and early Chicago House. He is inspired by Djs like Theo Parrish, DJ T, Cajmere, MK, RadioSlave, Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Osunlade, to name a few. And his love for Soul-inspired music runs deep, as he as also been known to throw down eclectic sets, blending Vintage Breaks, Neo Soul and Jazzy Hip Hop, or even hold it down with straight up Old School Hip Hop.

JNR shared the stage with the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Seth Troxler, Dubfire, Midnight Juggernauts, and Lindstrom at Zouk’s 10th Anniversary ZoukOut (2010) Festival. He also warmed up for the likes of The Pharcyde, Grandmaster Flash, Onra, DJ Numark, Louis Vega, Osunlade, Joris Voorn, Tiefschwarz, Anja Schneider, Agoria, Paul Kalkbrenner, Fritz Kalkebrenner, Trus’me, Spirit Catcher, DAM-FUNK, Dimitri From Paris, Derrick Carter, Citizen. Other highlights thus far include playing at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival (Singapore) in 2009, 2010 & 2011.
